The Maserati Biturbo is an executive «grand tourer» produced by Maserati between 1981 and 1994.
The first Biturbo was a two-door, four-seat coupe, with luxurious interiors and a two-litre V6 engine, as the name implies, with two turbochargers.
It was designed by Pierangelo Andreani, head of the «Centro Stile Maserati» until 1981, somewhat influenced by the design of the then recent Quattroporte III designed by Giugiaro for Italdesign.
The 2.24v, introduced in December 1988, would become the most powerful variant of the two-litre models, whose new four-valve engine per cylinder had been shown at the Turin Motor Show in May 1988. The 2.24v replaced the « Biturbo Si», which was withdrawn from production in the second half of 1988
This 2.24v is an original Portuguese car, has 40,000 and is in excellent condition.
